WP2: Provide tools for querying, searching and visualisation

Objectives:
  • provide tools for the end user and qualify through the involvement of academic research
Work description: design, develop, implement and qualification of:
  • extract source list tool- including artificial intelligence methods
  • associate source list tool
  • search database tools
  • visualisation tools
  • relay to the user all existent data in the data base related to a particular astronomical object

Planned total man month over 4 years (from contract, with internal NN's filled in)

Phase I: be ready to receive first data without later re-definition or re-shuffling - 2002

  1. T0 kick-off- prepare design review for WP2

Phase II: evaluate and prepare for mass production -2003 -2004
  1. T0 + 5Q WP2 Evaluation- given experience with operational WP1

  3. T0 + 10Q System full mass production proof (i.e. 100 Tbyte data volume); deliverable: operational tools
Phase III: qualify, operate and populate the mass production system -2005

    • basis set of queries (Danny)

    • advanced tools/query: Associate source lists (Kor Begeman)

    • tell me everything within ASTRO-WISE tool (basic ingredients provided by WP1 and WP3) (Danny)
