Open issues:

Please see Lorentz Center website for up-to-date programme. Programme listed below is slight outdated.

Aim of workshop:
At the workshop we will go through the various components of the Astro-Wise Information system.
The programme is meant to introduce new users to the system, but is  also meant to review  the preparations organizers of programmes  have to undertake to run own projects or Surveys with the system.
Times are indicative, programme will be very flexible. In principle afternoons are reverved for short demos and working in groups on exercises.
Partcipants are supposed to have some basic knowledge of the Python scripting language see  http://www.python.org/doc/current/tut/tut.html

Note about exercises:
The exercises will consist of a list of questions in ps/tex format. As you can see they are linked also from the draaiboek below (please cvs add your exercise draft) . The goal is to have all the relevant information for the participants to do the exercises on-line accessible from the portal and preferably present in the HOWTOS. If impossible some extra info can be given aside the list of questions.

Logistics/Infrastructure:
We have 37 participants.
We have two conference rooms booked all week long:
1. Our main room is Room 201 which is in the adjacent Huygens building which can accomodate all participants and has 2 beamers and a laptop with landline internet connection (and perhaps wireless reinstalled next week) to be used with one of the beamers to show alongside the presentation if needed.
2.the Gratama room, accomodating up to 32 people, which is inside the Lorentz centre and has 1 beamer and landline/wireless internet connection.
Conclusion: all speakers have to arrange a laptop to give their presentation (so contact somebody of us if you cannot bring a laptop yourself).
